About us

Food Tour Napoli is an independent guide to food tours in Naples. I’m the one who writes it, Titina Guarracino: I was born in Rione Sanità and still live there, I write about Neapolitan food for local magazines and walk through the historic centre almost every morning.
Why this site exists
In Naples, street food isn’t the problem. Finding it is. A pizza a portafoglio is on every corner of Via dei Tribunali, and no one needs a guide to stumble into a friggitoria. What’s missing is order: which stall, at what time, in what sequence, so that eight tastings become a meal instead of eight snacks that ruin your dinner. This site exists to tell you what you’re really buying when you book a tour, and when it’s better to walk on your own. The most honest answer I have is in is it worth it.
What I do here
I take the food tours in Naples that you can book online, compare them by duration, group size, number of tastings, indoors or outdoors, morning or evening, and write a profile for each. The ratings and review counts are the operators’ public data, not mine. The full profiles are in reviews, the side-by-side comparison in all the tours.
I’m not a tour operator, I don’t run a pizzeria, I have no agreements with the bakeries or fry shops I mention, and I don’t sell tickets. When you decide to book, I’ll direct you to GetYourGuide, which is an authorised reseller, and you’ll complete your booking there under their terms and conditions.
I don’t list prices in figures
It’s a choice, not an oversight. Rates change with the season, the day, and how many spots are left, and a figure written here six months ago won’t help anyone—it’ll just frustrate you when you get to the checkout. What I can explain is what makes prices go up and down, and I’ve done that in how much a food tour costs. The up-to-date number is shown in real time on the GetYourGuide widget.
How the site is funded
Through affiliate commissions: if you book via a link on this site, GetYourGuide gives me a small percentage, and you pay exactly what you would if you went to their site directly. It doesn’t change what I recommend, and the reason is practical before it’s ethical: if I send you on the wrong tour, you won’t come back. The details are in transparency on affiliations.
. Corrections, tips, a stall that’s closed or a route that’s changed: drop me a line via contact. I welcome them, especially the ones that prove me wrong.
Frequently asked questions
Are you an agency or a tour operator?
No. Food Tour Napoli is an independent guide: I don’t organise tours, sell tickets, or have agreements with the pizzerias, bakeries, or fry shops I mention. Bookings are made via GetYourGuide, and how I earn is explained in transparency on affiliations.
Why aren’t there any prices on the site?
Because they change constantly, and an outdated figure is worse than no figure at all. In how much it costsI explain what affects the price (duration, group size, private or shared, drinks, workshop or walking tour) and where to find the latest rate.
Have you tried all the tours in person?
I walk through the city centre almost every morning and know the stalls and streets on the routes inside out. For individual tours, I use the operators’ public data and real customer reviews, without exaggerating my enthusiasm—you’ll find them cited in the profiles.
